Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this program the successful student will have the ability to:

Conduct research and analysis to determine the viability of a prospective international initiative.
Conduct cost benefit analysis for importing and/or exporting potential products and services.
Select the most accurate market entry strategies based on research, analysis and potential issues.
Develop an international business plan including key business strategies and metrics.
Negotiate best payment options and arrangements based on risk assessment, and trade findings.
Adapt the company?s products to meet target markets regulatory, legal, and cultural needs, minimizing risk, and complying with buyer specifications.
Create a product in a cost-effective manner to maximize output and minimize costs.
Prepare and manage all necessary documentation for exporting goods and services.
Procure goods and services and outsource production in international markets in an effective manner.
Create a strong global brand identity and communications strategies in international target markets.
Identify competitive advantages that can lead to worldwide commercial success.
Identify the main processes in freight forwarding and utilize the four primary modes for the transport of goods in Canada and abroad.
Assess advantages and disadvantages of freight forwarding methods to make effective decisions.
Practice the communication, career and interpersonal skills necessary for success in the workplace.
Use MS Word to create, edit, format, and manipulate documents in a professional manner and use Excel to create spreadsheets, perform calculations and print results.
Identify and practice using ERP software systems that are used by companies in all sectors of international trade to integrate their operations both internally and externally.
Analyze accurate and complete financial data for a business to ensure its ongoing success
Develop and interpret financial systems, records, reports, and statements
