In the first three years of life, children are sensorial explorers that absorb everything from their environment. This ?absorbent mind? is the fundamental principle of the Infant and Toddler Teacher Guide Education Course. The Master Teacher is committed to guiding the teacher candidates understanding of the theoretical framework for understanding child development and the use of developmentally appropriate materials. The components of the course include:

Theoretical, scientific and historical foundations of the Montessori approach to education.
Stages of childhood growth and holistic development.
The child in the family and the community
Motor development and control of movement through didactic materials, music, rhythm and movement activities.
Sensorial foundations of intellectual life.
Environmental design in the home and the Montessori prepared environment.
Parent education and classroom management.
