Our mission is to provide children with the best possible educators : individuals who respect the child and can support each child's needs. Teacher candidates will explore the necessary tools to foster the child's growth and development while providing "hands-on" experiences that will encourage the child to develop a lifelong love and enthusiasm for discovery and learning.
Dr. Montessori’s vision is that her approach of education provides “a help for life” for the child. Learning to implement this fundamental principle is an essential part of the Education Course. Master Teacher and instructors are committed to explain the theoretical framework for understanding child’s development and to model the use of developmentally appropriate materials. The Education Course addresses the following topics:
Philosophical, scientific and historical foundations of Montessori approach to education and its modernity.
Stages of childhood growth and whole development.
The child in the family and the community.
Motor development and control of movement through daily life activities, music, rhythm and movement.
Sensorial foundations of intellectual life.The acquisition of spoken and graphic language.
The early awareness and preparation of the mathematical mind.
The presentation of scientific and cultural subjects.
Environmental design in the Montessori prepared environment.
Parent education and classroom management.
