?
Addictions workers play important roles in the lives of those living with substance use problems, mental health issues, and other challenges. As such, these paraprofessionals rely on a wide range of skills and knowledge. The Addictions and Community Services Worker program at CDI College is designed to prepare graduates for positions that assist clients facing substance use issues.
?
Students in the Addictions and Community Services Worker program gain a fundamental understanding of psychology, pharmacology, ethics, and communications. They also learn about the fundamentals of addiction and its impact on people. In addition, students learn about case file management, treatment planning, and various community resources available to clients with addiction and mental health issues in Ontario.
?
Prior to graduation, students put their knowledge and skills to the test in a mandatory community placement. Graduates of this program will be prepared to work in a range of social service settings in the province.
?
The program is approved by the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF).
