Program Overview
Accounting and Payroll Administrators are responsible for a diversified administrative jobs, making them part of an organization where their skill sets and knowledge are necessary for an effective operation. The following duties and responsibilities are just some of a wide variety that an accounting and payroll administrator do.
Responsible for the preparation and processing of biweekly/monthly payroll for employees
Review and ensure accuracy of approved time sheets
Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources, budget and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data
Establish/maintain employee records making sure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis
Review changes for proper authorization and adherence to policies including compliance with federal/provincial/city regulations
Assists with quarterly and year-end audits, including file reconciliation, adjustments and tax slip distribution
Track and reconcile vacation and personal days
Program length: 52 weeks with 200hrs of practical application
Program Components
This program is designed for student to acquire an in-depth knowledge of Accounting and Payroll, bookkeeping services, financial and tax reporting and other business-related topics.
It will help the students to identify relationships between accounting information and business activities, analyze and record business transactions, prepare financial statements, adjusting entries, year-end accounting procedures and interpret results in manual and computerized accounting system.
