BC Practical Nursing Courses
The practical nursing courses at CDI College provide you with opportunities to develop, integrate, and demonstrate your knowledge, skills, and judgement. Upon graduation, you?ll have the skills to efficiently deliver patient-centred, culturally sensitive care to individuals, families, and groups of all ages.
During the program, you will participate in four work experience opportunities in a range of healthcare settings so you?re prepared to hit the ground running in your new career. You will also take part in a final preceptorship at the end of the program.
Licensed Practical Nurse
Practical nursing is the second-largest nursing group in Canada, after Registered Nurses (RNs). LPNs treat health conditions, promote health, prevent illness and assist patients to achieve optimal levels of health and wellness. They work with a team of doctors and RNs to deliver the best possible care to patients in hospitals, long-term care facilities, doctor’s offices, schools, and other healthcare settings.
After completing every course in the Practical Nursing program, you?ll be eligible to apply to become an LPN through BCCNP.
This program has been approved by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training.
Students who graduate from the Practical Nursing program are eligible to write the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination (CPNRE), which is required to practise as a licensed practical nurse in Canada.
