Anyone who wants to work in foodservice industry including restaurants, long term care home, food trucks and day cares need to have Food handler Certificate.
According to government regulations, it is a legal requirement for those working in food industry or handling food in any forms, to have a food handler certificate. According to the Law, a food handler is “a person who, through his work, has direct or indirect contact with food during its various stages: preparation, manufacture, processing, processing, packaging, storage, transport, distribution, sale, supply and service”.
Food handlers should be aware of food hazards and sensitive to avoid them.
