Accounting Assistant Program

Program Description
Classes will be interactive and involve learners in group discussions, research, role plays and presentations. Active participation in class is expected. As learners progress through this program, they will build their confidence levels, gain experience and increase their ability to perform entry-level accounting tasks in real situations.

Program Delivery
Because team work and computer skills are an important requirement in the field of Accounting, this course has been developed as a blended delivery model (a combination of face-to-face and online). In response to COVID-19 directives from Alberta Health Services, this program will be delivered using a distance learning model (online). As the province begins to open its doors and Albertans become vaccinated, we will continue to determine the safest steps to bring learners back on campus and into the classroom. Online learners are asked to have:

Base-line computer and typing skills (25 net words per minute)
Daily access to a reliable computer (Monday to Friday, 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.)
Reliable internet service
A comfortable chair
A workspace away from distractions
A working microphone and video camera
Earphones or earbuds (optional)
Please note: learners will be expected to open and save Word documents, email and send attached files, as well as access lessons and materials shared on Moodle and Microsoft Teams).
